Down But Not Out!

So here’s a littleimages update on what’s been going on!  Vacation started July 27th as we headed down 95 south towards North Carolina. 2 hours into the drive I felt my legs cramping up so I went to stretch my leg.. Upon doing that I felt pinch and a crack…  I knew this wasn’t good.. At the next rest stop I’d get out and walk it out hopefully easing the pain.. Through out the drive I had a stiffness and soreness on the interior of my left knee.. We get to our first destination, Roanoke Rapids. And I have a hard time walking for a moment until I warmed up my knee. We got in to the hotel and I elevated my leg and took some Alieve.  The next morning, I woke up and I was okay not to much pain.

Once in Topsail Beach.  I noticed that I still had stiffness in my knee and a weird pain in the interior of my knee. I ran a few times while down there but there was one night where I woke up in sever pain clenching my knee.. All I could think of, ‘NOT MY MCL! PLEASE NOT THAT!’  I again took some Alieve, elevated my knee and went back to bed.  That evening while cooking dinner I twisted the wrong way and well Down I went, clenching on to the counter in pain.

So with that, I haven’t been running in 2 weeks trying to let my knee heal some.  Today, is the first day in 2 weeks where my knee isn’t killing me.  I am still gunna make an appointment with an Ortho but even that makes me nervous.

In other news..  I am going back to school for my RMA ( medical assistant ) !!! 35 and I am going back to school… Nervous as all hell but  I got this!! This is my year! 35 is the new 25, RIGHT? right! lmao. I am also getting a second interview with Lululemon on monday! I never thought I’d ever work there but I am stoked..

  1. Wishing you a speedy recovery! [Try to] enjoy your days off!

  2. Hey man. Congratulations on going back to school. As for the knee pain, I advise you to check it out sooner than later. I’ve seen first hand, from my patients, what can happen if you don’t take it seriously and don’t see a doctor. Also make sure that the sneakers you’re wearing are adequate for you. It makes all the difference. This is worrisome. Get well soon.

    • Yea, I’m gunna get it checked out. Got an ortho number from Allison! I’m calling Monday! No playing around with my ole legs that’s for sure! I’ve been keeping it KT taped up to support it until I get in to the docs!

    • Also, I’m in good shoes that I got fitted for. So that’s not the problem. It’s honestly an old injury that resurfaced! Yea for getting old! 🙂

  3. That’s good news. Keep us updated. Also, stop getting old.
